We all wish to eat healthy when we travel but we hate preparing and packing food so we end up eating junk and sugary food. We don’t want to deprive ourselves of trying exciting foods but we also don’t want to get thrown off track.
So if you struggle with what to eat when you travel, check out these healthy options 🙂
A classic PB sandwich

A peanut butter sandwich is a supreme snack for anyone. If made properly, it provides the right amount of protein, healthy fats and carbohydrates. Moreover, it is super easy to make beforehand and carry when you travel. Choose the right bread, preferably multigrain or whole wheat to make it rich in fibre.
One single serving of peanut butter provides 8 gms of protein so add a PB sandwich in your bag. And ya, skip the J 🙂
There is no problem a ‘Burrito’ can’t solve

Burrito has numerous nutritional benefits. It is rich in fibre as it consists of so many different vegetables, which is good for the gut. To make it rich in protein, you can add black beans, eggs or chicken.
It is a good source of carbs as the wrap is made up of wheat. It keeps you energize and fuller for the long time, so you won’t end up binging on unhealthy things.
‘Fresh fruits’ is always a good idea

Fruits are an important part of a healthy diet. They are packed with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and antioxidants. So consuming fruits while travelling will keep your sugar cravings in check.
However, we don’t want juicy fruits to be squashed in our bags so choose some firm fruits like banana, blueberries, apples, oranges. When in rush we often pick diced and packed fruits from the stores. Nevertheless, this option is not ideal for travelling as they need to be stored in a specific temperature. So make sure to pick the whole fresh fruits.
Athletic ‘Nuts & seeds trail mix’

This is the easiest yet healthy option to carry. We all know that nuts and seeds are rich source of healthy fats, omaga 3, folate and vitamin E. All we need to do is choose our favorite nuts & seeds like almonds, walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and mix them.
This is super convenient to carry while you travel. Eat this trail mix mindfully as it’s high in calories 🙂
No bake Energy bars

These tempting no bake energy bars are rich source of protein, fibre, antioxidants and omega 3. This is an ideal combination of carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats.
Make certain that these bars are homemade or made up of organic ingredients and natural sweeteners like stevia, else most bars sold in market are high in sugar. These no back energy bars will keep you satisfied between meals.
P.S. If you’re committed to stay healthy and fit, packing your own healthy travelling snack will help you minimize urge of eating outside and maintain your daily calorie intake 🙂
